I've Been There Too...
There was a season when I wanted to spend time with God,
but every time I sat down, I felt stuck. My mind felt busy, tired, and distracted.
My mind was full.
My heart was tired.
My days were busy.
And my quiet time had become another thing I felt I was failing at.
So I stopped trying to pray perfectly.
Instead, I began to pray honestly.
I wrote my prayers exactly as I felt them.
I asked God what He wanted to show me.
I waited.
A scripture would come.
And then I would sketch what was on my heart.
No pressure.
No rules.
Just listening.
One day, God showed me an image.
A brick wall made of all my fears:
“You’re not good enough.”
“You’re not creative.”
“This won’t work.”
“What if you fail?”
Behind the wall was a beautiful rose —
being slowly choked by weeds of busyness, worry, and noise.
And I heard Him say:
“Your beauty is being choked by your busyness.”
That moment changed everything.
Out of that moment, God gently led me to create a simple practice I could return to and eventually share with other women.
