Grief is exhausting.
And nobody tells you what to do with it.

You've prayed. You've read the Psalms. You've tried to be strong. And yet grief still sits there — heavy, wordless, and unexpressed.

You feel the loss in your body but you can't find the words for it — so it just stays inside, unexpressed.
You open your Bible and your mind goes blank. You want to connect with God but grief has made that harder, not easier.
People around you have moved on. But you haven't. And you feel quietly ashamed of that.
You've never thought of yourself as creative — so the idea of "art journaling" feels like it's for other people, not you.
You want to honour who or what you've lost, not just survive it. But you don't know how to do that in a way that feels right.
You're tired of grief being something you push through alone. You long for a space where it's safe to feel it — with others who understand.

5 days. A journal. A way through.

Grief to Grace is a gentle, guided art journal journey using colour, texture, Scripture and the G.O.L.D. framework — a faith-rooted process for moving through loss without bypassing it.

🎨

A creative language for grief

When words fail, colour speaks. You'll learn simple art techniques that let you express what you couldn't say out loud.

✝️

Scripture that meets you there

Each day is woven through with NLT Scripture — not to tidy grief up, but to remind you that God is present in it.

🤝

A community who understands

Live Zoom sessions mean you're not alone in this. You'll be surrounded by women walking the same road.

📖

The G.O.L.D. framework

Grieve it. Open your hands. Look back with love. Draw close. A faith-rooted structure that honours the full journey.

💛

5 completed journal spreads

By Tuesday evening you'll have created 5 meaningful pages — a tangible record of your courage and God's faithfulness.

🎁

I'm Bev Jessup —
and I coined the phrase "Christian art journaling."

I know what it is to sit with grief that doesn't have words. To want to bring it to God but not know how. To feel spiritually dry and creatively shut down at the same time.

That's why I developed the Spirit-Led Sketch Method — a gentle, faith-rooted way of creating that doesn't require talent or training. Just honesty and a willingness to pick up a pen.

For 34 years I worked as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. I know how people communicate when words fail them. Art journaling is one of the most powerful tools I've ever seen.

I've taught thousands of Christian women to find their creative voice — and I'd love to help you find yours.

Things people often wonder

Not at all. Every technique in this workshop is beginner-friendly — and Bev actively teaches to women who say "I'm not creative." The whole point is that you already have something to express. We just find a way to put it on the page.
Very simple: a journal or sketchbook, watercolour paints or diluted acrylics (any brand), a couple of brushes, a black pen, and some washi tape or old magazines for collage on Day 3. A full materials list is sent when you register.
All 5 sessions are recorded and you'll have access to watch them back. We encourage you to come live if you can — the community energy is very special — but life happens, and no session will be missed.
Any kind. The loss of a person, a relationship, a season of life, a dream, your health, your identity. Grief comes in many forms. The G.O.L.D. framework and the techniques in this workshop are for all of them.
On Day 1, you'll receive a $10 coupon code that you can apply to your first month of Creative Sanctuary membership. Essentially, your workshop fee becomes your door in. You are never obligated to use it — it's a gift. But the door is open if you want it.
On Day 5 (Tuesday 28 July), 100% of Creative Sanctuary memberships purchased that day — monthly or annual — will be donated to charity. You'll vote during the workshop on which cause receives the funds. Bev was born in Uganda and has a deep personal connection to both charities featured.
No — the $10 workshop is a standalone event. Creative Sanctuary is Bev's ongoing faith-based creative membership for Christian women. You'll learn about it during the workshop and receive the Day 1 coupon. There is no obligation to join — but many women choose to.

Your grief deserves more than
silence and waiting.

For $10, you get 5 evenings of live teaching, community, Scripture-rooted art journaling, and a framework for moving through loss with God — not around him. Let's do this together.

You came to this workshop carrying grief.

So did they.

Day 5 is different.
Every monthly membership sold that day goes to charity.

I was born in Uganda. That country is woven into who I am, and the children there have never left my heart.

Sarah runs Sweet Sarah's Kids Foundation in Uganda. Not with funding, not with fanfare, but with fierce love and very little else. She feeds children who would otherwise go hungry. She holds babies who have no one. She sends children to school in their uniforms... little ones who carry the weight of loss and still show up, still learn, still hope.

Many of these children were orphaned by AIDS. They came to Sarah with nothing. She gives them everything she has.

Many of the women in this community are selfless givers. They hesitate to spend money on themselves. On Day 5, joining Creative Sanctuary on a monthly plan is not just an investment in you. It is an act of generosity. You are allowed to do both.
🕊️

Sweet Sarah's Kids Foundation — Uganda

A non-profit founded August 2021. Sarah feeds, shelters, and educates children orphaned by AIDS in Uganda. Every monthly Creative Sanctuary membership purchased on Day 5 goes directly to her work. Every penny.

🌟

Annual members — Planted with Purpose

If you choose the annual Creative Sanctuary membership on Day 5, you receive Planted with Purpose — a full faith and calling course valued at $197 — as a thank you for your commitment to a full year.

These children are not a project. They are not a statistic. They are exactly who Jesus was talking about when He said whatever you do for the least of these, you do for Him. Find Sarah on Facebook: Sweet Sarah's Kids Foundation Uganda.

"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord,
and he will repay him for his deed."
Proverbs 19:17 (NLT)
